The Academic Service Center of Walailak University, as the regional coordination center in the south of the YSC project, congratulates with students who were developed projects and, the representatives from the south of Thailand. The students won the prize in the national finals contest on March 4, 2021. The announcement of results of the contest on March 19, 2021 were as follows:

Project’s name: Salt-resistant bacteria isolation efficiently in decomposing used engine oil contaminated at sea using biological methods

For the YSC 2021 project, Walailak University received budget support from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) together with the National Research Office (NRCT) which university alliances, coordinating namely Naresuan University, Suranaree University of Technology, Ubon Ratchathani University, Thammasat University, and Silpakorn University organize a project contest for young scientists, the 23rd Young Scientist Competition: YSC under the NSTIF2021. There is a competition in the YSC2021 finals. On Thursday, March 4, 2021. Moreover, the developer who won the work and the runner-up of YSC2021 will be representing Thailand in the competition of Virtual Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2021 (Virtual Regeneron ISEF 2021) in May 2021.
For the competition, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) was the main host of the event. There were 62 projects that had been passed to the final round from all over the country which 10 projects produced by the south younger students. Walailak University was honored as a representative of the Southern Coordination Center to send representatives of faculty members to be judges of the contest with faculty members from various universities across the country.
