The difference between a simple headache and a migraine is Normal headaches are pain in both temples, occipital pain, and shoulder pain, which is muscle headaches. While migraines are pain in only one side of the head and not necessarily pain on one side, there may be alternating left and right examinations. The pain is severe because nausea, vomiting, loud noises, and bright sunlight will make the headache even more intense.
