During 9 – 14 September 2021, Asst. Prof. Jiraphat Nawarat, Dr. Charupa Lektip, School of Allied Health Sciences and the staff of the Center for Academic Service visited the targeted communities in Nakhon Si Thammarat to provide health consultation and medicine administering in order to promote the production and economy in the communities. In addition, there was a video creation about the prevention of occupational injuries. Here were the targeted areas which the staff had visited.
The staff established cooperation with the staff of various schools such as, Ban Lang Ai Mee Border Patrol Police School, Bankhuanmit school, Bannongnuntree School and Ban Kuanmeechai Border Patrol Police School, Wang Ang Subdistrict, Cha Uat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat being targeted areas under the projects of “Raising the Safe Local Vegetable for Supporting Community – based Tourism”, subsidized by the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB) with By His Majesty Administration and Coordination Center for Pak Phanang River Bash Development Initiated, and the Project of “Consulting Services and Problem Solving on Occupational Technology in the Community” supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
The projects of “Bio-Agriculture Safe” and the Project of “Consulting Services and Problem Solving on Occupational Technology in the Community” were supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in agricultural goods development in Klong Noi Subdistrict, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The staff organized a project called “Consulting Services and Problem Solving on Occupational Technology in the Community” in agricultural goods development supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in Pa Rakum Subdistrict, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Moreover, the subdistrict is one the targeted areas under the project of “University to Tambon” regulated by Walailak University.
Incidentally, these activities were on the topic of “Happy Tree Model” or “Community Well-Being Development for Healthy Life” being the main idea which indicated various aspects, such as education, career enhancement, health development, environment, social condition and culture. The idea also focused on building community resilience by using researches to enrich the communities.
Moreover, Walailak University had used one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which was the third goal, “Good Health and Well-being” to provide guarantee that the people in the communities must be in good health, especially in reducing mortality rate and illnesses caused by dangerous chemicals, contaminants and air, water and soil pollution. The Center for Academic Service was really grateful to the staff of teachers, communities and representatives from various organizations for making the events successful.
