Since January 2567 until now, the School of Education and Liberal Arts and the Center for Academic Services of Walailak University, in collaboration with the Division of Education Religious and Culture of Thaiburi Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Satit Walailak Pattana Community Early Childhood Development Center and Wat Koklek Early Childhood Development Center, have been continuously driving activities; they have organized meetings to develop project proposals by extracting lessons from the assessment results of early childhood skills since 2023. This is aimed at developing teaching curricula suitable for children’s ages and local contexts by transferring technology to develop the learning corner of Early Childhood Development Centers in line with the current situations. Additionally, efforts have been made to enhance the capabilities of physical fitness and health in young children for teachers at Early Childhood Development Centers, prepare plans for tracking outcomes of children who have passed the High Scope curriculum, and elevate the Early Childhood Development Centers as models for educational visits using the High Scope curriculum before extending knowledge management practices in early childhood centers throughout Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
This event provides an opportunity for stakeholders from various sectors to share their opinions, including:
-The executive committee of Thaiburi Subdistrict Administrative Organization
-The staff of the Division of Education Religious and Culture
-Educators from Satit Walailak Pattana Community Early Childhood Development Center
-Educators from Wat Koklek Early Childhood Development Center
-Representatives of students’ parents from Satit Walailak Pattana Community Early Childhood Development Center
-Representatives of students’ parents from Wat Koklek Early Childhood Development Center
-Walailak University working group
The meetings were organized in various formats, including meetings with the executive committee of the Thaiburi Subdistrict Administrative Organization, meetings with representatives from the Division of Education Religious and Culture, technology transfer sessions on skills for observing and evaluating the development of early childhood for teachers, dissemination of project outcomes during academic days of Early Childhood Development Centers, as well as home visits to early childhood along with administrators and teachers to provide knowledge on observing the development of early childhood and special needs early childhood to parents.
From the collaborative efforts to drive the plan forward and create changes at both Early Childhood Development Centers, which have adopted the High Scope teaching model, it was found that Executive Functions (EF) skills increased by 40%. The executives of the Thaiburi Subdistrict Administrative Organization, the team from the Division of Education Religious and Culture, the teachers, and the parent representatives from both centers provided their input to the project team. Their feedback focused on organizing activities to promote reading and writing skills, developing motor skills and muscle development in early childhood, which remain significant issues for the early childhood development centers, as well as enhancing physical fitness in early childhood, which is essential for their healthy growth and age-appropriate development.
The ECEEP’s working group from the School of Education and Liberal Arts has integrated the outcomes of their meeting with the Department of Physical Therapy, the School of Allied Health Sciences. They organized various activities under the Physical Therapy Project for Movement Development in Early Childhood in Communities Surrounding the University. In addition to promoting early childhood cognitive skills through the High Scope curriculum, they also enhance motor development to create programs for early childhood with developmental delays. Moreover, they aim to develop programs to achieve excellence in early childhood motor skills. The goal is to elevate the centers to a model that excels in both educational and health aspects, preparing children to become quality human resources. Before further expanding and developing the project to other areas within the province, discussions with local authorities in Nakhon Si Thammarat province will take place to facilitate the project’s expansion.
