DUSIT, BANGKOK, 28 October 2024 – Asst. Prof. Dr. Amonsak Sawusdee, Director of the Center for Academic Services at Walailak University, was invited by Chitralada Technology Institute to deliver a keynote address on “Strategies for Mobilizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Walailak University’s Performance in Advancing SDGs.” The event was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Khunying Sumonta Promboon, President of Chitralada Technology Institute, and attended by executives, faculty, and staff.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Amonsak Sawusdee offered a comprehensive overview of the 17 SDGs, illustrating their global significance and the pathways to implementing them effectively within academic and community frameworks. He highlighted the Pillars of Sustainability—Environment, Society, Economy, Institution, Peace, and Partnerships—emphasizing their interconnected roles in building resilient and sustainable societies. Director Amonsak’s presentation underscored Walailak University’s commitment to advancing these goals through rigorous academic research, community engagement, and strategic partnerships that drive impactful change.
Further, Director Amonsak shared Walailak University’s notable achievements in sustainability, particularly its recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024. The university currently ranks within the top 101-200 universities globally and holds a joint fifth place among 77 Thai universities listed in the rankings. These rankings reflect Walailak University’s dedication to contributing meaningfully to sustainable development through excellence in four primary areas: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.
