On the evening of 17 November 2024, the Walailak University Student Union hosted the WU Freshy Awards 2024, also known as the WU Prom Queen Competition, to select new student ambassadors who will represent the university’s image. Presided over by WU President Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, the event drew enthusiastic participation, filling the main auditorium in the Thaiburi Building with faculty, staff, and students.

The competition serves as a platform for female students to confidently express themselves and develop their potential, reflecting the university’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates who are both “Good and Smart.” It provides female students with the opportunity to showcase their talents, share their perspectives, and express their individuality publicly. The event is open to all female students, ensuring equal participation and representation.
