School of Public Health Hosts Alumni Homecoming to Strengthen Academic and Sustainability Connections

On 7 September 2024, the School of Public Health, Walailak University, organized the “Alumni Homecoming Activity” (กิจกรรมคืนสู่เหย้า ศิษย์เก่า), welcoming 15 former students to reconnect with their alma mater and learn about the university’s latest developments.

During the event, participants were updated on Walailak University’s progress in key areas, including new research initiatives in public health, emerging trends in healthcare and disease prevention, and the university’s academic and infrastructural advancements. The session provided an opportunity for alumni to exchange experiences, strengthen professional networks, and explore future collaboration opportunities in the field of public health.

A major highlight of the event was a presentation on Walailak University’s performance in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, which emphasized the university’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible development. The discussion also helped raise alumni awareness of the importance of integrating sustainability principles into public health practice and education.

This initiative serves as one of the dedicated outreach educational activities on the SDGs for the wider community, which could include alumni, local residents, and displaced people.
