On March 5, 2026, Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Krittika Kabploy and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanong Aewsiri from the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry; Asst. Prof. Ratchadaporn Boripun from the Akkhraratchakumari Veterinary College; Asst. Prof. Jiraphat Nawarat, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jirarat Songsri, and Asst. Prof. Issara Prachongsai from the School of Allied Health Sciences; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nirattisai Rakmak from the School of Engineering and Technology, together with a support team from The Center for Academic Services, held a consultative meeting with members of Satit Walailak Pattana Community Integrated Swine Farming Community Enterprise Group.
The meeting was organized under “the Livelihood Promotion for Sustainable Community Development Project”, bringing together university lecturers and community enterprise members. A total of 21 participants attended the meeting. During the session, the project team explained the implementation plan of the activities and discussed the current situation of swine farming with the participants. The meeting also served as a platform to listen to opinions and suggestions from farmers to ensure that the project activities respond effectively to the actual problems and needs of the members of the Satit Walailak Pattana Community Integrated Swine Farming Community Enterprise Group. The initiative aims to strengthen stable and sustainable livelihoods for the community.
This activity is part of the Social Engagement Project to Holistically Enhance the Quality of Life of Communities Surrounding Walailak University. Through this initiative, Walailak University aims to foster collaboration in transferring knowledge and providing technical support for swine farming to farmers in the Satit Walailak Pattana Community in an efficient and sustainable manner. The key areas of support include:
These activities aim to equip farmers with practical knowledge that can be applied to enhance the efficiency of their livelihoods, strengthen household food security and income, and promote sustainable agriculture practices. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to improve quality of life, strengthen community resilience, and support self-reliance.
The implementation of these activities aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
