THA SALA, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 29-30 August 2026 — Walailak University organized a workshop titled “AI for Teaching and Learning Development for Educational Personnel”. The training was offered free of charge to educational personnel and secondary school teachers.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Warit Jawjit, Vice President of Walailak University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charun Bunyakan, Vice President and Acting Dean of the School of Education, delivered welcoming remarks to the participants. A total of 33 participants from 17 organizations attended the training.
The workshop aimed to promote the professional development of teachers and educational personnel. Its objectives were to enhance participants’ understanding of the principles and ethical use of AI in education, as well as to develop their skills in using AI tools for content design, learning media development, assessment, and the creation of innovative lesson plans that can be effectively applied in actual teaching and learning.
The training was delivered by expert lecturers from the Teaching in Early Childhood, Primary, and Social Studies Programme, School of Education, including Mr. Thongchai Prommachan, Acting Vice Dean of the School of Education, and Dr. Onnipa Thaithae Pansamut, Vice Assistant Dean of the School of Education.
In line with the objectives of the programme, participants gained knowledge and practical skills and developed innovative lesson plans incorporating AI technology that can be effectively applied to teaching and learning in educational institutions, maximizing benefits for learners. Upon completing the training, participants received certificates of completion. The post-training evaluation showed an excellent response from participants, who also provided valuable feedback and expressed interest in receiving further training on additional topics.
This initiative represents an important mechanism for transferring the University’s knowledge and innovations to address challenges and support community development. It contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. The initiative also supports the “WU HAPPY TREE” approach in education and contributes to the University’s performance under the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings (ED5) criteria, helping improve the quality of life of young people and surrounding communities in a sustainable manner.
