WU Crab Bank, Crab restoration Project, Supported by The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Grabbed 3 National Awards “Crab Bank for Community" for Sustainability

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) has organized the “Crab Bank for Community” contest for sustainability with the purpose of being a platform to show the potential of sustainable blue crab management at the community level and make reputation for the Crab Bank in order to be a strong role model to carry out similar activities in other communities as well as for the general public to realize the importance of blue crab conservation. As reported by the contest, WU Crab Bank, Crab restoration Project, Supported by The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and operated by Walailak University won 3 National types of Awards:

  • The 1st Place Award for Community’s Crab Bank Learning Center was Crab Bank Learning Center and Ban Nai Tung – Coastal Fisheries Learning Center, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
  • The 1st Place Award for Initial Community’s Crab Bank Learning Center that has been Operated Continuously was Ban Hat Somboon Crab Bank Learning Center, Surat Thani Province.
  • The 1st Runner Up Award for Newly Established Community was Ban Tha Phaya Crab Bank, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
