On Sunday, 5 December 2021, the Center for Academic Services under collaboration with various partners organized a closing ceremony for the 28th Marine Ecology Online Course at the broadcasting studio, the Center for Academic Services, Research Building, Walailak University through ZOOM application.
In the closing ceremony, the project was honored by Prof. Dr. Wanna Choorit, Vice-Rector for Research and Social Service, Walailak University giving the closing remarks; followed by congratulations messages to all participants for having successfully participated in the course given by Mrs.Sumana Kajonwattanakul, Director of the Marine and Coastal Resources Research & Development Institute, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, and Ms. Pornsuree Konanta, Corporate Affairs Manager, Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production, Ltd as the co-host and main sponsor respectively.
After that, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amonsak Sawusdee, Director of the Center for Academic Services, Walailak University informed the summary report of the momentous course organized between November 5 – December 4, 2021, and subsidized by Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production, Ltd.
The purpose of the course is to promote knowledge of the marine ecosystem both in terms of Interspecies Interactions and marine ecosystem structure that will ameliorate research potential and scientific studies for preserving sustainable management of marine resources and ecosystem.
The course was held between November 5 – December 4, 2021, with 60 participants from 22 universities across the country and carried out for 1 month. It consisted of various topics, e.g., “Polar Exploration” by Prof. Dr. Suchana Chavanich, Chulalongkorn University, “Thailand’s Fishery Management Plan, and IUU” by Mrs. Praulai Nootmorn, Department of Fisheries, “Teaching with Film: ‘Seaspiracy’ Discussion Questions” by Prof. Dr. Tuanthong Jutagate, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University and so on.
