Chevron continues its commitment to supporting the 29th Marine Ecology Online Course

August 29, 2022 – Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. has recently donated a total of 750,000 baht to the Center for Academic Services to organize the 29th Marine Ecology Online Course at the television studio, Research Building, the Center for Academic Services, Walailak University.
On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amonsak Sawusdee, Director of the Center for Academic Services, and CAS staff members gave a warm welcome to the representatives of Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. and received the donation.
The course will be held between September and December to strengthen knowledge development of the marine ecosystem in Thailand through human resource development to propel the country into becoming a world-leading country. From the past until the present, there have been more than 800 students from all over the country participating in the course. The activities of this course include:
1. CSR and network development activities
The activities aim to strengthen the cooperation between faculties, alumni, and related organizations; make sacrifices; and cooperate for the benefit of society.
2. Lectures and seminars
The CAS will invite experts, researchers, and scientists from all over the country to give lectures on various matters.
3. Practical Learning
There will be demonstrations for the participants to practice and learn marine ecology, such as classifying samples of aquatic animals, preserving invertebrates and vertebrates, taking a photo of the samples to conduct research, etc.
4. Conduction of a Mini Research Project
This process will be implemented after the lecture session has finished.
This momentous course cannot happen if it is not subsidized by the complete cooperation of Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. and the Center for Academic Service. The CAS will serve as a coordinating center for operating the course.
