CAS Staff Members Surveyed the Readiness of Community in Strengthening and Developing Local Wisdom

          On January 16, 2023, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amonsak Sawusdee, Director of the Center for Academic Services, Walailak University, together with department heads and CAS staff members, warmly welcomed the management team and staff from Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. led by Mr. Piyanai Klinnoi, manager of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Air Transport Center; Mr. Naradet Saipavejbamroong, aviation expert; Ms. Phonmai Jirayingphan, aviation expert; and Ms. Jiraporn Chotchuang, senior officer of the Relations Department, on the occasion of New Year’s Day in 2023, at the television studio in the Research and Academic Service Building.

          In this regard, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amonsak Sawasdee provided information on the results of the 29th Marine Ecology Camp project activity in an online format, which was held between November 12 – December 18, 2022. The project received support budget from Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. Moreover, they discussed and planned to organize activity for the 30th Marine Ecology Camp project in an on-site format, which is expected to occur in Phuket. The training course is in the process of development.

          In this regard, the implementation of this project over the years has always been well funded by Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., with the aim as follows:

To learn about the interactions between creatures and the marine environment

To learn about the important mechanisms and processes

To promote the learning process of scientific research

To raise awareness of the importance of ecosystems and conservation through the intelligent and sustainable use of marine resources

To organize activities to strengthen relationships, disseminate information, and promote the academic development of faculty members, alumni, and related personnel and agencies

          The roles and responsibilities of WU are public relations, recruitment, selection of project participants, coordination and cooperation with faculty members, academics, researchers in marine resource management and marine ecology from the university, and related agencies from all over the country to meet the objectives of the project and maximize the benefits to the project participants in the future.
