Academic Service to Society, Walailak University Integrated with Khuan Mai Bong Sub-District Health Promotion Hospital, Village Health Volunteer Leaders, and Wang Ang Community Leaders to Promote the Health of Farmers in the Model Community Area.

          On 11 April 2023, Dr. Thana Juckmeta, Ms. Piriya Chonsut, lecturer at the School of Medicine, and a working team of Clinic Technology, the Center for Academic Services were in the area of Wang Ang Sub-district, Cha-Uat District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province to organize consulting services onto the use of local herbs with the aim to promote and prevent Non-Communicable Diseases for representatives of farmers and representative of the community enterprise group (SDG3). Also, the working teams participated in a meeting to plan herbal use activities in the Wang Ang community and ways to integrate health activities cooperation with Khuan Mai Bong Sub-district Health Promotion Hospital, Wang Ang community leaders  and Village Health Volunteer leaders (SDG17). This activity is part of a series of the Project of “Consulting Services and Problem Solving on Occupational Technology in the Community” supported by the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.          

          This activity was in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages, especially, reducing the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and from air, water and soil pollution and contamination, and strengthening capacities for all countries, especially in developing countries, on early warning, risk-reducing and health risk management. Moreover, it was in line with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, establishing cooperation with relevant agencies. In this regard, the Center for Academic Services would like to thank the faculty members, community representatives, and representatives of local agencies who participated in such activities.
