WU Providing Free Knowledge on Processing Kimchi Vegetables during Technology Transfer Day to Kick Off the New Production Season (Field Day)

January 25, 2024—Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanong Aewsiri from the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry (SAF), along with the working team of the Center for Academic Services (CAS) at Walailak University, participated in the Field Day event for the 4 districts of the Pak Phanang River Basin (Hua Sai District, Pak Phanang District, Chian Yai District, and Chaloem Phra Kiat District) at the Suan Bunprasit community enterprise in Tha Som Subdistrict, Hua Sai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

This event was in collaboration with the community enterprise “Suan Bunprasit” and Hua Sai District Agriculture Office. Additionally, this aimed to transfer and expand the research outcomes of “The Development of Kimchi Products, Packaging, and Marketing Research Project” which was supported by the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB) and the Administration and Coordination Center for Pak Phanang River Basin Development, funded in the fiscal year 2566.

Consequently, the event provided free access to knowledge on processing Kimchi vegetables, including, transferring technology, and demonstrating the process of making Kimchi, demonstrating the methods of fermenting Kimchi sauce and providing Kimchi samples.

Moreover, the Vice Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Mr. Sritham Ratchakaew, presided over the opening ceremony of the Field Day. During the Field Day, more than a hundred farmers actively participated in practical learning sessions about processing Kimchi.
