During the period from January to February 2024, Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Jiraphat Nawarat, Dr. Charupa Lektip, the lecturers at the School at Allied Health Sciences, and Ms. Piriya Chonsut, the lecturer at the School of Medicine, along with students and working teams from the Center for Academic Services, collaborated on the academic mission to serve society through technology transfer activities for the rehabilitation and care of patients with Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and the utilization of herbs in communities for health care benefits. This involved organizing exercise programs and utilizing community herbal products for the benefit of individuals at risk of NCD patients, the leader of the village health volunteer, and staff of Satit Walailak Pattana Community Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital. Besides, continuous monitoring and evaluation were conducted, alongside the dissemination of academic works serving society with sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly SDG3.

These activities were part of the project series “Walailak Health Model: Restoring Quality of Life and Creating Sustainable Well-being in Community Areas Around the University”, where lecturers from various departments collaborated to integrate activities with the missions of academic service, research, and teaching to align with Basic Physical Therapy in Community, Physical Therapy for Disabilities in Community of the School of Allied Health Sciences and Thai Traditional Therapeutic Massage 6 of the School of Medicine.
