RON PHIBUN, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 7-9 June 2024 – Walailak University, under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaweewan Klongsiriwet and faculty members from the School of Pharmacy, organized a pharmacy camp in the Ban Khao Wang community. This event saw the participation of over 70 WU students and was designed to provide valuable educational experiences by immersing them in the local ways of life. Through this camp, students gained insights into various aspects of the community, including traditional occupations, healthcare practices, and efforts in resource and environmental conservation. Additionally, the camp emphasized the importance of understanding the community’s diverse cultural context, fostering an appreciation for multiculturalism, and inspiring students to contribute to the development of community pharmacy.

The camp featured a variety of activities aimed at enhancing students’ learning experiences. These included a nature walk to explore ecosystems and natural resources, mixed gardening, delving into the community’s history, herbal inhaler production, tree planting, compost production, stingless bee farming, and the preparation of cardamom-flavored chili paste. By organizing this camp, Walailak University significantly contributes to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
