On March 13, 2025, at Walailak Botanic Park, the School of Education and the Center for Academic Services organized an English Camp for high school students from Khlongponsaritpitaya School. The camp aimed to enhance and develop students’ English language skills through a variety of engaging and enjoyable activities.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Pongpan Compan, Acting Deputy Dean of the School of Education, who delivered a welcome speech and officially opened the camp. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of English language learning in today’s world and praised the collaboration between the School of Education, the Center for Academic Services, and Khlongponsaritpitaya School in organizing this beneficial event.
The English Camp activities were structured into five learning stations, designed to allow students to practice English in real-life scenarios through games, songs, and role-playing exercises. A total of 20 English major students from the Bachelor of Education program at Walailak University’s School of Education had the opportunity to apply their knowledge and teaching skills in an out-of-classroom learning environment.
Additionally, participants enjoyed a guided tour of Bota Sky Tower and the Wildlife Breeding Center, conducted in English. This provided students with valuable learning experiences outside the classroom, further reinforcing their English skills in an immersive environment.
The event was successfully carried out with the cooperation of English program faculty members from the School of Education, including Ms. Treenuch Chaowanakritsanakul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kiki Juli Anggoro, and Ms. Kedkarn Phanwiriyarat, along with 20 English major students. Additionally, the Walailak Botanic Park provided the venue for this event. A total of 38 students from Khlongponsaritpitaya School participated, accompanied by six teachers from the school’s Foreign Languages Department.
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), which promotes inclusive and equitable education, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which fosters collaborations with networks and organizations to achieve educational development objectives.
