THUNG SONG, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 4 June 2025 — Walailak University, through its Center for Academic Services (CAS), organized a workshop to raise awareness on sustainable water resources management and local irrigation conservation in Na Mai Phai Subdistrict, Thung Song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The workshop was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Ditthakit from the School of Engineering and Technology, Mr. Suthira Thongkao from the School of Languages and General Education, and Mr. Phusit Horpet from the School of Science. The event welcomed representatives from the Na Mai Phai Subdistrict Administrative Organization and local community members.
This initiative forms part of Walailak University’s ongoing projects to promote natural resource and environmental conservation through several key missions:
During the workshop, Walailak University reported on the progress of the Living Weir for Developing Community to Sustainability Project, shared strategies for sustainable water resource management and communal irrigation practices, and provided knowledge transfer sessions on water management for agriculture utilizing cloud computing technology and marine waste management.
This activity directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
