On 5 May 2026, the Center for Academic Services, Walailak University, organized a workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for WU staff at Phattharathammaporn Hall, 9th Floor, Building B, Walailak University Hospital.
The workshop aimed to enhance staff knowledge and strengthen capacity in sustainable development, while fostering a clear understanding of each unit’s role in supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event was attended by more than 30 participants from various departments across the university.
The opening ceremony and keynote address were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Warit Jawjit, Vice President for Administration and Sustainable Development, who presented on the topic “Walailak University’s Sustainability Driving Policy.” His remarks highlighted the university’s direction and strong commitment to advancing sustainability in a concrete and systematic manner.
The program also featured a series of special lectures and interactive learning sessions designed to deepen participants’ understanding of sustainability issues. These included a lecture entitled “Carbon Neutrality of a Green University” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Laksanara Khwanchum, which emphasized the university’s efforts to advance carbon neutrality through research, academic services, and responsible resource management.
In addition to the lectures, participants actively engaged in hands-on activities such as SDGs card games, Q&A sessions, and group discussions. These activities encouraged participants to propose ideas, policies, strategies, and action plans to address sustainability challenges. Participants also collaborated in designing interdepartmental projects aimed at strengthening the integration of sustainable development practices across the university.
This workshop represents another important step for Walailak University in strengthening staff capacity and promoting active participation from all sectors in driving the university toward achieving sustainable development goals and advancing institutional sustainability in a meaningful and practical manner.
