“Loy Krathong Tradition”

Walailak University run the event Walailak Loy Krathong promote tradition to the natural way”, which falls on the 15th day of the 12th lunar month, with the integration between the Walailak cultural ashram Student Affairs Division Student Organization Administration Organization and other departments both outside and within the university Its main objective is to carry on cultural traditions. Tradition of Merit to Eat Fire is an important tradition of Nakhon Si Thammarat people. Most of them practice during the month Ai – Yi month, which is a cold season. Each Buddhist community will make an appointment together at the temple at dawn. Making merit offering breakfast to monks in winter In order for the monks to warm up during the cooking by making a fire and cooking food and snacks for the monks in the early morning on any winter day. Buddhists in the vicinity of the temple will make an appointment to bring firewood to make a fire. and together cook savory dishes to offer to novice monks and set a fire Invited monks to come to me around the campfire. Make merit for great-grandfather organizes activities to make merit-making activities for great-grandfather regularly during the fifth month of every year (March) to carry on the tradition of worshiping the ancient ruins of Toompung and to promote and instill moral and ethical values and encourage students and staff to realize the value of ancient sites to learn about the important history and archeology of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province because of the belief that this ancient site of Toompung used to be a religious place of both religions Brahmins and Buddhists before the activity of making merit for great-grandfather Toompung Consequently, it consists of Brahmin religious ceremony (sacrifice and worship the gods) and Buddhist rituals (Charoen Buddha Mantra making merit, spreading kindness and dedicating charity, etc.), most of which personnel carry a tiffin to join in making merit and offering food to monks. To share a sweet and savory meal for all participants and the last activity will be a volunteer activity that allows students and staff to join together to clean up the Toompung archaeological site. “Songkran Tradition”

is a tradition held annually by Walailak University by organizing activities “Walailuck Songkran Songkran Inherit the Thainess” Songkran is a Thai New Year’s tradition. Which has been practiced for a long time until it has become a cultural tradition that is deeply embedded in the way of life of Thai people. Walailak University has organized activities to play local sports. including the culture in terms of food Building good relationships between surrounding communities Watering ceremony to pray for elders to bring prosperity and the cold and the continuation of beautiful traditions which is a precious heritage of Thailand.

“Thod Kathin Tradition”

Walailak University organizes Kathin ceremony annually. To strengthen good relations between the university and surrounding communities through such activities It is also the preservation of religion. Which is what holds the minds of people in the community and the university It is the inheritance of traditions not to decay from the culture and traditions of Thai people. It is also another way to strengthen unity in society.
