Center for Library and Education Media, Walailak University is a collection of information resources to support teaching and research of the university, have information resources to promote knowledge, skills, ability to study, occupation and lifestyle opening to, all as well as supporting and giving outsiders the opportunity to have free access to the library to support lifelong learning, The Center for Library and Educational Materials is developed to be a Living and Digital Library which consists of 5 operations, namely e-Resources, e-Services, e-Training, Digital Content and Learning Space, as well as providing online course services for Walailak University Open Education (WUMOOC) to people of all levels and occupation. There are also corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in the area of organizing library systems for school libraries and important temples in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Center for Library and Education Media Walailak University has provided library services to support and provide opportunities for outsiders to access the library to support Lifelong Learning for free regarding research and information resources within the library, using a computer or other equipment. However, if you want to borrow information resources, you must apply for an annual subscription as announced before.
For the underprivileged or the handicapped, in addition to free access to the library, it also supports the basic needs that facilitate access to the library, including lanes for wheelchairs, and promote access to information by providing Braille books, etc.
The Library and Wisdom Center has developed the Living and Digital Library in five areas: e-Resources, e-Services, e-Training, Digital Content and Learning Space. Currently, there are information resources to support learning and research. It is a type of book, document, booklet, 207,924 theses and researches, 260 printed journals and information in electronic form, 9,487 titles of e-book, e-book database, electronic journal, and 27 online thesis databases. In addition, Smart Classroom has been developed to support both online and active learning teaching. Online lessons have been created in various formats such as Thai MOOC lessons, open education for lifelong learning, creating instructional clips for teachers to disseminate by filming in the studio and self-taught recording tools using the Swivl device, as well as providing a room for online teaching.
In addition, the Center for Library and Educational Media also provides a website to provide information resources and support education to students. teachers and guests, allows everyone to access online services anywhere and at any time. The recipient can access at the website https://library.wu.ac.th which allows the public sector to be able to search and access information on their own At the same time, students and the general public can search and link to various information sources to support and promote life-long learning, for example, to search for bibliographic lists of the libraries of higher education institutions in Thailand (Union Catalog) to borrow between libraries, etc.
Under the academic cooperation project between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation with Walailak University, The Center for Documentation and Educational Materials supports the main mission of providing various forms of distance education, providing online courses for open education, and promote lifelong learning together with the Thai Cyber University project (Thailand Cyber University : TCU) by producing online lessons or courses for mutual use. It includes the provision of online course services for Walailak University Open Education (WUMOOC) to people of all levels and professions. which can be accessed through the website as well, with statistics of service usage as shown in the picture.
The Library and Educational Media Center also has Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in terms of organizing a library system for school libraries and important temples in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The objectives are to encourage everyone to have lifelong learning and green library services. promote learning Sustainable environmental conservation and development, such as organizing a library system for Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan School.
There are also community service activities around the university to promote social responsibility. Project for Community and Environmental Conservation of Learning (Corporate Social Responsibility of Green Library: Project for Community and Environmental Conservation of Learning) is a project to promote cooperation to build social responsibility: development of green libraries for learning and conservation is carried out to develop cooperation between the school and the Center for Documentation and Educational Media, Walailak University, in the field of school library development and promotion of cooperation and social responsibility by organizing activities to promote learning and environmental conservation under the concept “Green Library for Learning and Environmental Conservation”
There is a process of training to educate about green libraries for teachers in charge of school libraries and students at school locations by setting up a knowledge base on waste reduction and separation, energy saving and renewable energy green knowledge, eco-footprint and DIY activities, etc., with a total of 15 secondary schools in Nakhon Si Thammarat province participating.
