Walailak University collaborates with the public and private sectors to organize the28th Marine Ecology Online Conference.

Since the past until now, The Government and Private Sectors  realize the important responsibility of young and students about the Marine ecosystem. The Marine Ecology Online Course has been one of the projects of 28 years of cooperation between the government and private agencies. This year Walailak University, The Center for Academic Service collaborate with Marine and Coastal Resources & Development Institute and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources get subvention from Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Co., Ltd. for 550,000 Baht to conduct The 28th Marine Ecology Online Project to our target Bachelors degree, Masters degree, and Doctorate who are interested to join this project all over Thailand approximately 60 persons on 6 November 5 December 2021.

The 28th Marine Ecology Online Course aims to teach students how to interact with organisms and marine ecosystems. The critical process promotes scientific research and raises awareness of the importance of ecosystems and saving the marine ecosystem more wisely and sustainably. Walailak University gets good cooperation from specialists about marine ecosystems by Leading Universities in Thailand, Government Agency from all over Thailand, Researchers, Scientist of Education institution, Marine and Coastal Resources Research & Development Institute, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Department of Fisheries, and the agencies involved. The 3 main ideas of Marine Ecology Online Course;

  1. Lecture: Provide knowledge and describe a topic that has already been researched through the process of learning outside of the classroom.
  2. Practical part: Show from a specialist such as classify aquatic animals, keep the sample of invertebrates and vertebrates, take a photograph as an example of a research etc. This makes students happy because the activities can encourage students to voice their opinions in the classroom.
  3. Writing a short research or proposal title: After the lecture and practical class, students must divide into small groups to create a short research or proposal title with a teacher and researcher will guide them in each group. They have to set a problem, plan an experiment, do an experiment, data collection and analysis, summary of experimental results, write a proposal, and present it to teacher and scientist.

Therefore, Walailak University with The Center for Academic Service is responsible for sending out recruitment notices to those who have been chosen to participate in this project and collaborate with expert teachers, academics, and researchers in Marine Ecosystem Management to achieve the goal and provide benefits to students,
