The Walailak University Digital Office Management System (DOMS): the Innovation for Sustainable Communication

Walailak Institution establishes its Phase 1 Development Plan under its 20-year Strategy Plan, with the goal of becoming a paperless university. As is well known, utilizing paper necessitates the use of trees, implying that deforestation must occur as a result of paper manufacture. Walailak University is against deforestation and needs to limit paper consumption on campus. As a result, “The Walailak University Digital Office Management System,” a system that improves operational efficiency and effectiveness, has been developed. One of its features is eSignature, which allows Walailak University authorities to electronically declare permission and acknowledgment. The formerly needed handwritten original signatures on paper documents have already been superseded by the invention.

Over the past few years, the operations of Walailak University have greatly improved. It provides a smoother, less complex, and more digitalized experience. As a result, a total of 6,268 reams were saved, accounting for 297,857 THB. However, Walailak University is an unstoppable go-getter to keep developing innovations for sustainability and the convenience of the staff and students.

Moreover, on October 26, 2021, Walailak University received the “Best Strategies” award at the “Thailand Digital Transformation Awards 2021” for the Walailak University Digital Office Management System (DOMS). This guarantees that the university uses the mechanism of policymaking to decide how to boost the efficiency and sustainability of university operations.
