Demonstration and Agricultural Innovation Development Center to improve sustainable farming practices

        Walailak University and the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry Operated the Demonstration and Agricultural Innovation Development Center, in honored of King Rama IX. It aimed to bringing the royal initiative of King Rama IX to be a practical as guideline for empirical results such as the using of innovation or semi-innovation in agriculture that followed the framework of Thailand 4.0. Moreover, it focuses on the production of organic agriculture and postharvest management properly, processing of produce and selling products and processed products to earn money back in the right amount and time including the cooperation of farmers who are interested in selling their produce

        In addition, the Demonstration and Agricultural Innovation Development Center, it will be a practice place for first year students of the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry to learn the theory and practice of agriculture.

       Furthermore, there are established mock shop called “Kla Dee Shop”, which is a shop for students to bring in safe agricultural products that they produce and practice to sell it and manage small business

      There is the training about learning knowledge and bringing the new theory of agriculture according to the royal initiative to practice for the sustainable living as farmers or those interested in agriculture. This training is available for people who are interested or the general people

 

 

The utilization areas of Demonstration and Agricultural Innovation Development Center

 

The total areas of Demonstration and Agricultural Innovation Development Center is 10 rai, divided into production areas as below

  1. Vegetative area organic

Vegetable production with vegetable cultivation Innovation of vertical crops by using planting material that is the result of research from the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry and rice cultivation using less water innovative, cultivation of organic fruit trees such as herbs, passion fruit, grapes, melons, oil palm and seed development and development and production seed.

 

  1. Animal area

Raising economic animals by producing organic animal feed by testing using organic food to raising animal such as raising duck eggs together with fish farming

In the fishery, red tilapia in cages farming by test feeding innovations by regulated automatic fish feeders using solar power and cultivating of plants in combination with aquaculture

(Aquaponics)

 

  1. The area of processing the products

Taking products from Demonstration and Agricultural Innovation Development Center to processing for sale such as tilapia sausage, salted egg, fresh vegetables, squash ice cream, Gac Yogurt, and cider/fermented vinegar to selling through” Kla Dee” stores as mock company of the School of Agricultural Technology and food industry ‘s student club
