The Dialogue on Women’s Peace and Life Quality in Three Deep Southern Provinces of Thailand Conference Through the “She Talks Peace” Podcast
She Talks Peace is a podcast that points up the role of women peacebuilders across sectoral worldwide, which worked with governmental and non-governmental organizations in bringing permanent peace and security to their communities. The host of this podcast is Amina Rasul Bernardo, President of the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy, and Dina Zaman, who is a Malaysian journalist and co-founder of IMAN Research. Also, the podcast was held by International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN), an NGO focused on women’s rights, peace, and security. Many female peacebuilders came to be a guest on this podcast. “She Talks Peace” Episode 14, where Asst. Prof. Dr. Amporn Marddent, the anthologist and the head of the Center of Excellence on Women and Social Security of Walailak University in Southern Thailand, had a dialogue with Tom Yam and Temples. The topic included the conflict in three deep Southern provinces in Thailand, including Yala, Narathiwat, and Pattani. The south of Thailand was the topic area of dialogue about the Deep South, which is a conflict area. The people are involved in a disagreement with other people, especially young people, and women are the most affected people. Altaf Deviyati and Dr. Amporn Marddent reveal that healing the deep south insurgency’s sufferer is not the Thai Government’s focus.
According to the dialogue, Walailak University also had action on the same topic, implemented by the Center of Excellence on Women and Social Security of Walailak University. The dialogue is also related to SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
