Walailak University, in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion and NGOs, including Thai Sea Watch Association and Federation of Thai Fisherfolk Association, organized a campaign to promote knowledge for locals fishermen not to catch, buy and eat small aquatic animals obtained by illegal fishing equipments. Also, the campaign provided free knowledge, raised awareness of overfishing, and created a forum for exchanging knowledge on fisheries and ecosystem management practices with community participation.
