The Affordable Dormitories for WU Students

Walailak University provides low-price dormitories, which are fully equipped with convenient facilities, welfare, security, and affordable housing for students. Also, WU organized student development activities to advance the students’ potentialities, such as goodness, efficiency, happiness, and leadership, following the values of “gratitude, knowing self-and-social discipline, and volunteering.” Accordingly, the student dormitories promote learning activities for all students to learn the basics of adapting to the college learning style and living with others. As a result, students can participate in activities to develop their potential thoroughly and ensure a good quality of life at the university.

For students unable to pay the dormitory accommodation fee as scheduled, the fee can be paid in monthly installments-for instance, the student who lacks capital or a source of funds that can disburse after the due date. WU financially supports all students to have equal occupancy in university dormitories under the announcement of the rules and rates of dormitory fees.

In 2021 WU has opened the WU residence to consistently support the expansion of the university and the increasing number of students. WU residence is divided into dormitories for male students, B1 building, and female students’ dormitories, A1, A2, and B2 buildings. These 4-story buildings can accommodate 1 or 2 people per room and have many convenient facilities, including two beds, mattresses, desks, chairs, wardrobes, air-conditioners, an internal bathroom, a sink, and a balcony for drying clothes.

In 2022, the university had a plan to construct an additional student dormitory, namely “WU Residence C.” The construction site to the north of the existing WU Residence dormitory area at Walailak University has been prepared by clearing and leveling the land. In 2023, the university entered into a construction contract for the WU Residence C building to accommodate the university’s expansion and the increasing number of students.

WU focuses on developing the potentiality of students by making the student dormitories area become the Living, Learning, and Caring Center for enhancing the residential environment, which promotes the learning process, self-and-social responsibility, respect for others, and warm fellowship with other people.
