Walailak Sports Complex: The Free Sports Facilities for All
The Tumpang Main Stadium at Walailak University is modern, meeting the standards to host national and international sports competitions and creating strong cooperative sports networks. Furthermore, it serves to elevate sports development towards excellence and career advancement. It promotes and supports the development of athlete preparation standards for national-level competitions and serves as a host for various sports competitions in collaboration with regional networks, continually fostering this mission.
Sports Complex
In addition to mental growth, Walailak University wants to promote physical fitness. The sports complex is a newly renovated area with facilities for multiple fitness and competitive activities. Opportunities such as running, swimming, biking, or weight training await. The sports facilities are all shared with the local community free of charge.
Center stadium
The Center Football stadium has an 8-track and field sports complex with 4 training stadiums.
Swimming Pool
Our Olympic-size pool is designed for competition events and is ready for student training and recreational activities. There is also a family pool near the student dormitories, and it is accessible by Walailak University’s electric shuttles.
Walailak Futsal Arena
The Sports Center maintains a futsal arena for those students seeking an opportunity for competitive activities. The arena is near the fitness center and swimming pool and lit for evening play
Tennis court
The 8 tennis courts are standard and paved with acrylic floors. They can host tennis games as certificate competition fields in the daytime and nighttime.
Physical education building
There is a volleyball, basketball, muzzle, futsal, boxing court, and physical testing room.
Badminton court
Eight badminton courts provide service for students, staff, and visitors.
Petanque stadium
Petanque Stadium includes 10 courts.
Golf course
Golf driving range for 18 points and putting green for 1 point.
Aerobic court
Aerobic dance for health is instructed by experts, available from Monday to Thursday.
Fitness Center
The recently opened fitness center has facilities for weight training and aerobic exercises. It can be used individually, with a trainer, or as part of some of Walailak University’s student-led clubs. The more enormous sports complex is located near the outdoor courts and swimming pool.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced people to use the sports field for exercise under surveillance. After the pandemic, Walailak University’s Culture and Sports Promotion Center has planned to upgrade the central sports field and other fields to prepare for serving the community, staff, students, and the local community of Nakhon Si Thammarat. This upgrade is also aimed at accommodating various sports competitions. In 2022, Walailak University began to open some of the sports fields for service on June 1, 2022.
Center for Cultural and Sports Promotion provides and shares sports facilities with free access for students, staff, community, and people as follows:
- A user is a student and staff
- B user is the alumni association
- C user is the staff’s family
- D user is non-member
- E user is the organization or other agency
- F user is the general public
Other Field – Running on ‘Walai Tum Pang Road’ Nature Trails
Walailak University provided free sports equipment, facilities, and stadiums for local schools and the general public to organize sports-related activities. They collaborate with various organizations, such as the “Youth Unity” Sports Competition project, in partnership with the Youth Vision for Life Quality, Social and Environmental Development Network (YNET), Thailand Youth Institute (TYI), and Thai Health Promotion Foundation.
Moreover, the university collaborates with various organizations, provincial sports associations, national-level associations, and international-level associations in hosting sports promotion events continuously. Students, youths, or interested individuals can participate for free, both in terms of competition and attendance, such as the “PTT Southern Region Tennis Skill Improvement” competition.
The opening ceremony of Walailak Sports & Health Center and the Thai League 3 football competition for the 2022-2023 season had over 2,000 spectators enjoying the football matches for free.
The “A Get-together: the 3rd Cross-Country Road Bicycle Racing” competition aims to promote physical exercise and enhance bicycle sports skills among young people and interested individuals.

The “FOOTBALL COACH TRAINING PROGRAM in the FAT G Diploma Course” is a project aimed at training football coaches. Participants in this program come from schools, football clubs, and various football sports associations in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. This program is a collaborative effort involving MH Nakhonsi City Football Club and the FA Thailand.
