The GLOBE Mosquito Project is a project with the collaboration of Walailak University, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and international organizations aimed to gather and measure the data on mosquito habitat mapping for dengue and Zika prevention and control across the world, including Southeast Asia.Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krisanadej Jaroensutasinee, Head of the Center of Excellence for Ecoinformatics at Walailak University, has been working on the momentous project for five years with SEAMEO Network and GLOBE Network to collect and exchange data for more than 110 countries across the world. Moreover, the preliminary study found that forest landscape management often ignores women's voices or has incorrect planning practices about gender role. In Thailand, capitalists grow cash crops in large plots, causing the driving out villagers. The land inequality is so high. Later, in 2008, villagers in Southern Thailand have occupied the land of the capitalists to campaign the land reform. SPFT (Southern Peasant Federation of Thailand) was found, while making a living from the land and forest. In 2021, The Center of Excellence for Local and City Governance: CLCG, Walailak University, partners with the Thai Local Sustainability Development Institute and Tha Sala Community Enterprise to organize a free event on the local farmer network and community enterprise network in Nakhon Si Thammarat province to prepare and exchange on hemp development according to the new law and to provide opportunities for thought processes and experiences on hemp among the project participants by joining together in the form of community enterprises.
