Freedom in Dressing
Since 2017, Walailak University has the Walailak University Announcement on Gender-neutral Dress Code to uphold the right of students to dress according to their chosen gender, including during significant events such as the graduation ceremony. This policy reflects WU’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can express their identity freely. By recognizing the importance of self-expression, the university ensures that students are not only free to dress in alignment with their gender identity but also remain protected and respected in doing so. This progressive stance highlights WU’s dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the campus community, empowering students to embrace their individuality without fear of discrimination.
Protection from Discrimination and Reporting Mechanisms
Walailak University also places a strong emphasis on protecting individuals who report incidents of discrimination. The university encourages female students and staff to report any concerns related to gender discrimination to faculty advisors, supervisors, or the Student Council. WU guarantees that all reports are handled with sensitivity, ensuring that individuals are protected from retaliation and further discrimination. By establishing clear reporting channels and protective measures, the university upholds a safe and supportive environment for all. Walailak University has procedures for appealing and reporting discrimination in place for those reporting discrimination.
