Bota Cactus Dome

The Bota Cactus Dome, the largest of its kind in Southern Thailand, houses an extensive collection of cactus species, drought-tolerant plants, and succulents, serving as an important botanical learning center for students and the general public. The dome features 22 cactus species, 3 succulent species, and 12 drought-tolerant species, totaling 220 plants. Additionally, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, through the generosity of Mr. Kampol Tansajja, has donated further plant species, including 1 olive tree, 34 palm species, and 3 tamarind trees, totaling 106 plants. This diverse array of drought-resistant and rare species enhances the botanical collection, adding both educational value and aesthetic harmony to the Bota Cactus Dome, making it a prominent botanical center in Southern Thailand.

Herb Garden Plants

The Herbal Garden Project at Walailak University was initiated and coordinated in 2011. The garden was developed with the vision of creating a space that serves as a repository for medicinal plants and local herbs native to Southern Thailand. This project takes a comprehensive approach, encompassing all aspects—from planting, propagation, and harvesting to processing, product development, and practical applications. Each activity is designed to ensure the integration and interconnection of all information and processes.

The Herbal Garden Project aims to establish a holistic learning environment that covers all stages of herbal use and production, fostering knowledge and awareness about medicinal plants for students, researchers, and the public.
