On September 5, 2024, the Center for Academic Services, in collaboration with the School of Management, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Laksanara Khwanchum and Ms. Niramon Rawangngam (Lecturer), conducted a community mapping activity at Ban Laem Homestay in Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. This activity was part of the Transportation (TR) Project, which aims to connect UI GreenMetric and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 through community participation.
The initiative involved collaboration between university staff and local residents in surveying key walking routes and identifying important landmarks within the community. Geographic coordinates were also recorded to compile data for creating a community walking map. This map will serve as a resource for promoting tourism and enhancing learning about the local environment and cultural heritage.
The development of this walking map supports sustainable tourism by utilizing local resources and fostering long-term community development. This initiative aligns with SDG13 and SDG17. Additionally, this initiative contributes to the objectives of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.
