Walailak University Organizes Environmental Management Training and Solar Cell Installation Planning with Ban Laem Community

The target group consisted of 35 people, including:
1. Students: 10 people
2. Staff: 25 people
Total hours of the activity: 4 hours

On August 23, 2024, Walailak University, led by Asst.Prof.Dr. Chuthamat Rattikansukha from School of Languages and General Education, Asst.Prof.Dr. Kamon Thinsurat from the School of Engineering and Technology, and ACTING.SUB-LT. Worawit Pradittakarn (Lecturer) from the School of Education and Liberal Arts in collaboration with the students from the School of Engineering and Technology and the staff from the Center for Academic Services, conducted a training session on environmental management from the source through waste disposal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change at Ban Laem community in Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Key Activities:

1. Biological Fermentation Training:
Community members learned how to produce bio-fermented liquid from discarded fishery by products to reduce organic waste and promote resource efficiency. Participants practiced the process hands-on and received necessary equipment from the university for further application.

2. Solar Cell System Planning:
Asst.Prof.Dr. Kamon Thinsurat and engineering students worked with the community to plan the installation of a solar power system to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
