Walailak University Setting Strategies for Preserving Deang Temple in Chian Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

2. Staff: 5 people
Total hours of the activity: 4 hours

Walailak University, represented by Asst. Prof. Tanasun Tapparut from the School of Architecture and Design and staff from the Center for Academic Services, visited Deang Temple in Chian Yai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, to assess the progress of its renovation. The evaluation focused on the foundation, main building structure, and footing, while the roofs and architectural elements remain pending for renovation.
During the visit, WU engaged in discussions with the abbot and the temple’s committee members on implementing public relations initiatives to inform surrounding stakeholders of the progress and encourage community involvement.
This collaboration supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by contributing to the restoration and preservation of cultural and religious sites. It also advances SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering cooperation with various networks and relevant organizations.
