Walailak University strongly emphasizes the development of a sustainable transportation system in line with its mission as a Green University and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university has implemented policies and initiatives to promote zero-emission vehicles, reduce dependence on combustion-engine vehicles, enhance road safety, and improve accessibility for students, staff, and the surrounding community. Its on-campus transportation system is systematically managed through five key stages: Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Revision.

Planning
During the planning stage, the university participated in a policy planning meeting aimed at reducing the use of internal combustion engine vehicles within the campus. Data requirements were identified, and data flow processes were designed, with evidence documented in a Data Flow Diagram. This stage was scheduled for October 2024 and was overseen by the Academic Service Center, in collaboration with the Central Services Division and the Student Affairs Promotion and Development Division.

Implementation
The university implemented free shuttle services, e-motorcycle rentals with charging stations, safe bike lanes and pedestrian walkways, and repurposed parking areas for activities. Google Sheets was used for initial data collection, and a Dashboard was developed on Looker Studio to support monitoring. Evidence includes the Google Sheet files and the dashboard prototype. The activities are monitored in real time.

Evaluation
Evaluation encompasses both quantitative and qualitative aspects, with a particular focus on reducing the use of internal combustion engine vehicles and decreasing the campus parking area. Dashboard data is compared to support reporting for UI GreenMetric, accessible at Looker Studio Dashboard. Evidence includes evaluation reports and UI GreenMetric transportation reports. Evaluation is conducted annually and is overseen

Revision
The reduction of campus parking areas is intended to progressively limit the use of internal combustion engine vehicles within university premises. The university has established policies to encourage the use of public transportation and electric vehicles. Dashboard data continues to support UI GreenMetric reporting. Evidence includes evaluation reports and UI GreenMetric transportation reports. Revisions are conducted mid-year (June) and at year-end (September)
