Early Childhood Development Centers: Childcare Facility Provision for WU Staff and Students

Walailak University partners with Wat Khok Lek Early Childhood Development Center and Chumchon Satit Walailak Pattana Early Childhood Development Center to provide free childcare facilities for staff, faculty members, and students to allow female students who become recent mothers to attend university courses. These centers are conveniently located near the university in Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, ensuring easy access for all. Access to childcare services is open to all staff and students as well as members of the local community.
Educational Program

The education program at both centers is grounded in the HighScope Preschool Curriculum, developed through a collaboration between Walailak University and the centers. This partnership seeks to enhance early childhood education by incorporating research, outreach efforts, and student volunteering programs. The goal is to ensure equal access to high-quality education for all enrolled children. The curriculum emphasizes active learning, encouraging children to explore, ask questions, and engage in hands-on activities. It focuses on key developmental areas such as language, literacy, social skills, and cognitive growth through a well-structured daily routine. At Wat Khok Lek Early Childhood Development Center, teachers employ intentional teaching methods to guide children’s learning, while allowing them the freedom to make choices and follow their interests. This approach fosters independent thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, preparing young learners for future educational success.

In addition, Walailak University offers the WU Pediatric Clinic to freely support its students, staff and faculty members by providing comprehensive healthcare services for their children. This facility ensures that students can focus on their studies and that staff and faculty members can perform their duties without the added worry of managing their children’s healthcare needs. The clinic is a sub-department at the Walailak University Hospital offering routine check-ups, vaccinations, and general pediatric care, creating a supportive environment that helps balance the demands of education, work, and family life.
