Walailak University's Commitment to Combating Corruption, Bribery, and Organized Crime

Walailak University (WU) remains steadfast to uphold the highest ethical standards by implementing comprehensive policies and initiatives aimed at preventing organized crime, corruption, and bribery. Through rigorous governance frameworks and proactive engagement, WU reinforces transparency, accountability, and integrity in all facets of its administration.
The 2023 Anti-Corruption Action Plan
In 2023, WU launched the Anti-Corruption Action Plan to enhance governance and financial integrity. The university undertook significant restructuring of the WU’s Internal Audit Unit to ensure greater independence in auditing university operations. In parallel, external audits were assigned to the State Audit Office of the Kingdom of Thailand, further strengthening financial oversight and accountability.

The action plan explicitly delineates WU’s expenditure related to preventing corruption, crime, and bribery while integrating stringent disciplinary measures. The initiative underscores the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of good governance and ethical leadership. The full action plan can be accessed at WU Anti-Corruption Action Plan.

Declaration of Intent on Integrity and Transparency
WU’s President declared the institution’s unwavering dedication to integrity and transparency, emphasizing the elimination of corruption, crime, and bribery. The declaration prioritizes public interest, professional budgetary management, and impartial service to the public while ensuring all administrative actions align with the principles of good governance.
No Gift Policy

To mitigate conflicts of interest and uphold ethical conduct, WU implemented a strict “No Gift Policy,” which mandates that all staff refuse gifts and rewards associated with their official duties. This policy aims to foster impartiality, accountability, and public trust while reinforcing the university’s broader mission to combat corruption. More details on the policy can be found at WU No Gift Policy.
