Sustainability and Stewardship Most local communities have faced challenges on accessing sports facilities and exercise spaces, particularly in local schools surrounding the university and among the general public who lack sufficient budgets to provide modern sports facilities and equipment. This issue has affected the health and development of children and youth in the area, as well as the development of sports skills at both the local and national levels. Walailak University plays a significant role in promoting sustainable health and quality of life for the surrounding community. This commitment extends not only to students and staff but also to a diverse population, including the general public in local communities, disadvantaged people, and immigrant communities. Consequently, the university delivers outreach programs and projects in local community to improve or promote health and well-being aimed at providing comprehensive healthcare and continuously improving the quality of life for these target groups. These collaborations aim to improve health outcomes and involve a wide range of activities, including joint projects, student study visits, academic services, information exchange meetings, and more. These initiatives can be organized into three main categories: Collaboration with Local Health Institutions Walailak University has established collaborations with Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospitals surrounding the university, including Satit Walailak Pattana Community, Ban Han, and Ban Thung Chon. In 2023, Walailak University actively promoted Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) literacy among wider communities which could include alumni, local residents, and displaced people through a variety of dedicated outreach educational activities. These initiatives included workshops, seminars, and hands-on activities in which the SDGs’ knowledge was integrated. The CAS collaborated with local schools, community centers, and other organizations to tailor educational content meeting the specific needs and challenges of the community.
