Walailak University initiated a project to elevate community enterprises, focusing on the Pla Kob (a type of fish named Shortnose gizzard shad) products of the Ban Takhian Dam community enterprise group. This endeavor was led by students from the School of Accountancy and Finance, in collaboration with the Center for Academic Services.The team conducted market surveys at Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan in Mueang District and Wat Chedi in Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. They offered tourists samples of sun-dried fried Pla Kob, spicy salad with sun-dried Pla Kob, and seasoned Pla Kob bones, gathering feedback through taste tests and questionnaires. Exploring Multiculturalism and Traditional Practices: Insights from Walailak University’s Pharmacy Camp Walailak University, under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaweewan Klongsiriwet and faculty members from the School of Pharmacy organized a pharmacy camp in the Ban Khao Wang community. Approximately 70 WU students directly supported their faculty in organizing educational activities. Walailak University Launches Initiative to Ban Foam Food Containers and Reduce Plastic Usage on Campus In 2025, Walailak University organized a campaign to ban the use of foam food containers and to reduce or eliminate plastic usage within the campus. The events took place at the Chor Pradu Food Center and the Chan Pradu Night Market.
